Generally speaking conveyor chains are normally intended as normal roller chains fitted for conveying products. This concept must be considered no longer satisfactory. It is more appropriate to define a conveyor chain as a combination of linked components forming a continuous and articulating system by which the material to be conveyed is moved. 
These types of chains are the result of a modern and specialized approach to satisfy very different and sophisticated requirements for conveying products.
